How can a fundamental new development like digitalSTROM become established worldwide with sufficient diversity in present times? The answer is simple! aizo has taken out industrial property rights pertaining to a small piece of silicon, the dSID chip and for this purpose the digital STROM alliance was established as a non-profit organisation (Open Source) in 2007 under the patronage of the ETH Zurich. This is something entirely new in the energy supply and automation technology sector; the level of expertise held until now by only tens of thousands, is now available to millions.
